BEAUMONT-EN-AUGE - 14950
Beaumont culminates with 90 meters on a spur opening a broad panorama on the Touques valley. This village saw the birth of the mathematician Pierre Simon Laplace in 1749. He showed the stability of our solar system. Beaumont is also the native village of Colonel Langlois, soldier but also artist, who painted the scenes of Napoleonic battles. While walking through the rural community, one detects a rich and picturesque architecture: half-timbered houses, made out of slates, stones….

Description :
The church was built in stone during the 11th century.

It was first built in the Romanesque style, and some Gothic parts were discovered after restorations.
At the end of the 15th century, prior wished to rebuilt the priory (you can see the map inside the church).
A part of the church was destroyed during the 19th century (traces on the walls), a new entry is then rebuilt under Napoleon III.
