MANNEVILLE-LA-PIPARD - 14130

The borough is composed of a group of half- timbered houses, typical architecture from the Auge region (some preserved their thatched roof). The church dates from the Roman time but underwent many transformations; its tower built in the 18th century imitates the shape of a bell- tower with its eight sided roof. Near the borough, you can see the castle of Morainville (not opened to the public), dating from the 16th and the 17th centuries. Interesting panoramas are visible starting from the "white" trail, from the trail of the "Sablons" and from the trail of the "Mount- Broult". Crossed by the old royal road Alençon- Honfleur inaugurated by Louis XVI in 1789, Manneville Pipard is a very old village as attest it it the Gallic vestiges and from the Gallo- Roman time found during the recent excavations. Among curiosities, let us not forget the "Manoir du Lieu Cordier" built, according to Doctor Bureau, at the beginning of the 17th century.
