LIVAROT - 14140

The city of Livarot keeps marks from the end of the middle ages and from the industrialisation of the 19th century.
In fact, the vestiges of the castle make us remember the knight Du Guesclin, whereas the church of saint Ouen is a proof of the mixed architectural styles.
Besides, food factories were in Livarot one century ago, but unfortunately they were destroyed by a fire.
However, if you like tasting good food, the cheese industry offers you the possibility to discover how the Livarot cheese is made thanks to free visits.
In the museum of the cheese, local and traditional objects can be seen like pack saddles, moulds or milk timbales.
At the end, you can see the half timbering from the Bellou manoir, a listed monument which dates from the 15th century
